As an Assisted and Automated Driving Hardware Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and validating high-performance electronic hardware that powers intelligent vehicle systems. From concept through to production, you'll help deliver technology that pushes boundaries, channel your curiosity through complex engineering challenges, and continuously grow your expertise within a highly collaborative environment.

What To Expect

This is an opportunity to work on advanced hardware platforms at the heart of future vehicle technology. Collaborating with specialists across systems, software, integration and design teams, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of cutting-edge electronic systems while developing your technical capability in a fast-moving and rewarding environment.

  • Leading hardware validation activities and ensuring electronic hardware meets quality, performance and compliance requirements throughout development and production
  • Managing investigation and root cause analysis of hardware issues, driving effective solutions through structured engineering approaches
  • Developing and maintaining hardware requirements, hardware-to-software interface specifications and technical evidence to support programme delivery
  • Reviewing supplier hardware designs, including electronic circuits, PCB layouts and mechanical integration, to ensure robust engineering solutions
  • Supporting vehicle programme milestones through hardware delivery, prototype assessments and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences that you'll need to help you succeed here, including:

  • Holding a degree in Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • Demonstrating experience of hardware design and development for mass-produced automotive vehicles, taking products from concept through to production release
  • Applying experience of high-speed electronic hardware design, including complex automotive communication and computing platforms
  • Designing or developing safety-critical electronic systems, with experience of ASIL-rated components and functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 highly advantageous
  • Using hardware validation, test and debugging techniques, alongside engineering test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers, CANalyser and CANape to investigate and resolve complex technical issues
