Description
Priory Hospital Woking is looking to recruit a Lead Addictions Therapist to join the team. This is a 3 Month Interim role, which is 37.5 Hours per week.
Priory Hospital Woking is a mental health and addiction rehab hospital, offering world class inpatient and outpatient treatment. Our evidence-based treatment programmes are delivered by leading psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and other highly qualified specialists. What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Provide senior clinical leadership in the design, delivery, and evaluation of addiction therapy services, ensuring all interventions are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and aligned with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
- Conduct and oversee complex assessments, including risk assessments, dual-diagnosis presentations, and social/psychosocial factors, developing robust and personalised treatment plans for clients with diverse needs.
- Deliver a broad range of therapeutic interventions, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, relapse-prevention strategies, psychoeducation, and structured group programmes, ensuring consistently high clinical quality.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the therapy team, providing clinical supervision, case formulation support, reflective practice sessions, and contributing to staff training and professional development.
- Enhance multi-agency collaboration by working closely with mental health teams, safeguarding services, social care, GPs, and community organisations to ensure safe, integrated, and effective care pathways for clients.
- Drive continuous service improvement, using data, feedback, clinical audits, and outcome measures to identify gaps, implement enhancements, and contribute to strategic planning.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, or a related therapeutic discipline, along with registration or accreditation with an appropriate professional body. Significant experience working within addiction services is essential, including delivering structured therapeutic interventions and managing complex cases involving dual diagnoses. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, experience providing clinical supervision, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency framework. Excellent communication, risk-management skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice are key to success in this role.
