About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to work in our in-development state-of-the-art Additive Manufacturing Facility based on site in Rolls-Royce Bristol. These roles present an exciting opportunity to work at the frontline, creating, developing, and adapting manufacturing processes that will be introduced and used for years.
This role will be required to support across a range of disciplines within a Pre-Production facility, including the development and implementation of methods of manufacture alongside the wider project team while focusing on cost and quality requirements in the early stages. The team is focused on the validation and verification of new manufacturing methods with the goal of maturing Additive Manufacturing of aero components to TRL 8. You would be responsible for ensuring manufacturability of new products and be familiar with "Design for Additive Manufacture."
You will also be required to interact and manage relationships across various functions internally and externally, ranging from design teams to suppliers and onto directly influencing the customer and their requirements.

You will have experience in build preparation for Additive, machine operation, and post-processing of parts. Alongside this, you will have an appreciation of the use of Additive Manufacturing technology in a variety of appropriate applications, how build layout and design can impact the parts being produced, and how you can influence this using build preparation techniques.
You will ideally have experience in new facility set-up, be able to influence facility and machine layout, and have adaptability to work in an environment undergoing machine platform changes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop manufacturing methods and technology to deliver New Part Introduction to quality, cost, and timescale targets.
- Continuous improvement to eliminate waste and process variation, improve process capability, and reduce product cost.
- Deliver strategic growth through identification and development of future technologies and capability acquisition with seamless production implementation.
- Ownership of the technical package including product verification, change control, and operational support.
Position Qualifications
- Qualified to Degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace/Manufacturing/Materials/Mechanical or equivalent work experience.
- Practical experience in a manufacturing production environment within; continuous improvement, new product introduction, capability acquisition, process engineering, automation, or metrology.
- Motivated individuals with experience of delivering success when working in multi-functional teams including Operations, Planning, and Design Engineering.

Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in an Additive environment.
- Experience in an Additive facility defining technical requirements and controls in place.
- Experience in component validation and quality procedures.
To start, you will require a minimum Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place. Please be aware that the priority will be given to employees identified as being at high risk.
The professional level and the salary of the position will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. It is advised that you inform your current manager of your application for this role.
