ADHD Nurse Prescriber

Internal Clinical Team: Remote ADHD Nurse Prescriber United Kingdom | 37.5 hours per week


About Psicon

Psicon is a specialist neurodevelopmental service collaborating with NHS trusts to provide autism and ADHD assessments—an independent organisation predominantly supporting the NHS. We deliver the best psychological support and healthcare through an innovative, high-standard approach.

We are seeking ADHD Nurse Prescribers to support our core clinic hours (09:00–17:30, Monday–Friday), though flexible days may be negotiated (7-day operation). Full-time, part-time, or condensed hours are considered (minimum 22.5 hours over 3 days).

  • Remote/hybrid work available.
  • £5,000 pro rata salary uplift for those committing to 40% of time in-person at Canterbury or Basingstoke clinics.

About The Role

The ADHD Nurse Prescriber is responsible for:

  • Diagnosing and managing ADHD, including medication, while ensuring clients receive evidence-based care.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, maintaining clinical records, and communicating within the clinical team and external services.
  • Staying updated on ADHD research and best practices.

Key Duties

  • Conducting comprehensive ADHD assessments, diagnosing appropriately, and reporting findings to clients and families.
  • Performing holistic ADHD reviews, integrating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Initiating, titrating, and discontinuing ADHD medications (stimulants and non-stimulants).
  • Managing client pathways under Psicon’s protocols and NICE guidelines, generating prescriptions via approved formularies, and monitoring medication safety and efficacy.

Person Specification

Professional Requirements

✔ Qualified Mental Health Nurse (registered with the NMC) from an accredited institution. ✔ Hold an independent non-medical prescribing qualification (V300). ✔ NMC registration maintained. ✔ Specialization or experience in ADHD assessment/treatment. ✔ Experience in crisis situations. ✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

✔ Compliance with company regulations, including:

  • Up-to-date NMC registration.
  • Evidence of professional qualifications.
