Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – ADHD & Autism Assessments (CYP)

Perm Permanent Role Location: Hybrid – Face-to-face assessments in Manchester, admin from home Salary: £42,000 to £80,000 DOE

About the Role

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality ADHD and autism assessments for children and young people (CYP) across the UK.

This role works with NHS Right to Choose and private pathways to deliver timely, accurate diagnoses through structured assessments. The team includes Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, and Psychiatrists, all aligned with improving outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct face-to-face, structured ADHD and/or autism assessments with CYP in Manchester
  • Carry out remote developmental history interviews with parents or carers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) diagnostic discussions, with supports from senior colleagues
  • Deliver clear, compassionate diagnostic feedback to children and families
  • Generate thorough, evidence-based diagnostic reports using AI-assisted tools
  • Provide clinical supervision where applicable

Requirements

Qualifications & Registration

  • Recognised qualification in ADHD diagnosis or ADOS-2 / ADI-R assessment
  • Mandatory registration with:
    • HCPC (for Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, or Occupational Therapists)
    • NMC (for Nurses: Mental Health, Learning Disability, Children & General)
    • SWE (for Social Workers)

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience working clinically with children and young people (CAMHS setting preferred)
  • Experience in diagnostic assessments (ADHD/autism) is desirable
  • Paediatric or CAMHS background accepted with willingness to train.
  • Solid understanding of neurodevelopmental presentations and DSM-5/DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria

Other

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Familiarity with tools like ADOS-2, ADI-R, or equivalent (advantageous)
