ADHD/Autism Assessor

Permanent Role: Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner – ADHD & Autism Assessments (CYP)

Hybrid – Face-to-face assessments in Exeter, admin from home Salary: £42,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner for an independent provider specialising in autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people (CYP) across the UK.

The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-based neurodevelopmental assessments through NHS Right to Choose and private pathways. You will join a multidisciplinary team (MDT) comprising Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Family Therapists, and Psychiatrists.

Your work will focus on providing timely and accurate diagnoses, improving long-term outcomes for children and families.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct structured, face-to-face ADHD and/or autism assessments with children and young people
  • Perform remote developmental history interviews with parents and carers
  • Participate in collaborative multidisciplinary (MDT) diagnostic discussions (supported by senior professionals)
  • Deliver clear, compassionate diagnostic feedback to children and their families
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic reports using AI-assisted report writing tools
  • Provide clinical supervision where applicable

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised qualification in ADHD assessment and/or the use of ADOS/ADI-R tools
  • Registration with:
    • HCPC (Clinical Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist)
    • NMC (Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Children's Nurse, or General Practitioner)
    • SWE as a Qualified Social Worker
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience working with CYP (Children and Young People) in:
    • Clinical or CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)
  • Strong understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders in children
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for ADHD and Autism
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Experience conducting diagnostic assessments for ADHD/autism
  • Prior work in a paediatric or CAMHS-specific setting
  • Familiarity with ADOS-2 or ADI-R tools (or equivalent assessment techniques)
