Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor
Business Department Pensacola State College

About the Role
The Business Department at Pensacola State College is seeking Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructors to teach college-level courses in the following formats:
- Face-to-face
- Live online (via Zoom)
- Asynchronous online
Adjunct instructors will:
- Teach courses to diverse student populations
- Develop and assess curricula
- Facilitate student learning align with college and department standards
- Participate in program evaluation
This position reports directly to the Department Head, Business.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education:
- Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, approved by the College, with either:
- A master’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field, or
- A master’s degree in another discipline plus 18 graduate credit hours in Criminal Justice-related courses
- Graduation from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, approved by the College, with either:

- Must pass a successful criminal background check as required by the College

- Technical Competency:
- Ability to use and demonstrate proficiency in the technology required for assigned courses (e.g., Zoom, Learning Management Systems)

Salary Range
Adjunct faculty are paid on an hourly basis based on degree level:
- Master’s Degree: $35.00/hour
- Doctorate: $38.00/hour
Note: This is an open applicant pool—positions are filled as needed by the department.
Employment Policy
Background Investigation: Pursuant to Florida Statutes § 435.04(2), background investigations are mandatory. Applicants failing to meet eligibility requirements will be deemed not qualified for this role.
- All candidates must undergo a non-deticence background check by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
- Failure to disclose listed offenses in background investigations will result in disqualification.
