This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a busy school office environment. You will be an integral part of the team, supporting daily operations and contributing to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for children, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Opening and closing the office.
  • Being the first point of contact for parents, pupils, and staff on reception.
  • Receiving visitors according to school procedures.
  • Dealing with pupil, parent, staff, and visitor enquiries by telephone or in person.
  • Checking and recording pupil absence daily and contacting parents if necessary.
  • Efficiently maintaining school databases.
  • Supporting the organisation of school visits and residential visits.
  • Checking goods received are correct.
  • Assisting with general admin duties.
  • Completing a minimum of 6 hours per week on apprenticeship work and training.

Benefits

  • Wage: £15,392 for the first year, with potential increases based on age.
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (term time only). 37 hours per week.
  • Duration: 1 year 6 months.
  • Training: Business administrator (level 3) qualification with CT SKILLS LIMITED.
  • Training Schedule: Monthly 1-2-1 online meetings with a tutor. Minimum 3 hours per week for independent study (assignments, research, projects) and at least 3 hours of employer-provided training.
  • Potential for Permanent Role: Strong possibility of a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
