Administration Assistant - Maternity Cover
We have looking for an Administration Assistant for maternity cover to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. This is a part time role minimum 20 hours per week over 5 days (flexible working hours)
What you'll be doing:
- Input data provided by site staff into our data management systems to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with our engineers and support them in their daily tasks.
- Input key tracking data into management systems.
- Provide regular feedback to engineers to ensure data provided is of a high quality.
- Maintain key spreadsheets/tracking tools regarding key engineering activities such as lab testing and sub-contract engineer usage.
- Set up and maintain filing systems that are accurate and user friendly.
- Work as part of a flexible team, undertake a range of the functions and responsibilities that meet the needs of division / company.
- Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values.
- Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle’s policies and procedures.
- Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake.

Who we're looking for:
- Strong IT and numeracy skills, with experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Personable with strong communication and relationship building capabilities across all levels of the business.
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Proven experience in administration and providing professional service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good understanding of office management systems.
- Experience of effectively managing own priorities and meeting deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexibly supporting the overall aims of the team and changing priorities.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Qualification - ie 5 GCSE passes (or equivalent) or NVQ Business Administration level 2
- Experience in using Ground Investigation Data Management software such as Holebase/GINT/Openground (Desirable)
- Awareness of soil geotechnical properties, ground investigation techniques, exploratory hole logging/sampling, monitoring and laboratory testing methodologies (Desirable)

- Eligible to work and live in the UK.
