The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trauma & Orthopaedics Department at Gartnavel Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Outpatient clinic reception duties
- The preparation of clinic lists, including scanning relevant documents
- A sound working knowledge and understanding of clinical systems is desirable, i.e. TrakCare and Clinical Portal
- Experience in working under pressure and dealing with patients, both face to face and by telephone, in a calm and courteous manner is essential
This role offers a sound knowledge of the Orthopaedic department should further progression be desired.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- This post is a fixed-term or secondment post for 12 months, working 36 hours per week.
- The role is based at Gartnavel General Hospital, 1053 Gt Western Rd, Glasgow, G12 0YN.
- The shift pattern is Monday-Friday, 8.00-4.00.
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
- National 4 or Level 1 qualification in 3 subjects, including English or equivalent.
- General administration and office experience/previous clerical experience desirable
- Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
- Previous reception experience desirable
- Prior experience of using a Patient Management System would be desirable however training will be provided.
- Good organisational skills, having the ability to organise, prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Good communication skills and having the ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals.
- Good verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Self motivated.
- Ability to work flexibly and use own initiative.
- Ability to cope with stressful situations and work in a pressurised environment.
