Clerical Officer – Llandudno Hospital
Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical officer to join the team at Llandudno Hospital. This role provides an efficient and comprehensive administrative and reception service to the hospital.
The post holder will be the first point of contact for telephone communication and will work alongside the Site Administrator within the Llandudno Hospital Administrative Team to ensure a smooth service for the Community Hospital.
Essential requirement: The ability to speak Welsh is a must for this post.
Key Responsibilities
The role, at its core, aims to:
- Offer general assistance to service users/providers, projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors—both in person and via telephone.
- Receive, assist and direct patients to the correct service or healthcare professional, ensuring a courteous, efficient, and effective experience.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties, supporting the smooth running of the General Office, including:
- Clerical support for clinical and team staff.
- Facilitating communication between patients, staff, secondary care teams, and associated healthcare agencies.

Qualifications (Essential)
- GCSEs in English & Maths (Grade C/4+ or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 2 in Administration (or equivalent).
- IT qualification (or equivalent proficiency) in Microsoft Office packages.
- RSA/OCR Level 2 (or equivalent experience).

Desirable Additional Qualifications
- Accreditation in ECDL.
- AMSPAR-City & Guilds Level 3.
Experience (Essential)
- Prior experience in a clerical, administrative, or reception role.
- Copy/voice typing skills.
Desirable
- Proficiency in speaking Welsh.
