Administration Assistant - Survey

Ty Awen, Newport, Wales

Talented people are the key to our success.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Survey Administration Assistant to support the delivery of a major survey programme within the Welsh Water Capital Delivery Framework.

Reporting to the Flow Survey Manager, you will play a key role in administering survey requests, processing data, and ensuring timely reporting to support the progression of capital schemes.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team delivering critical surveys on the performance of existing sewage networks - helping to improve infrastructure and deliver environmental benefits across Wales and parts of England.

Role Responsibilities

  • Administer survey requests and ensure timely issue to Design Teams
  • Generate survey and location plans using GIS systems
  • Process and manage survey data collected on-site
  • Produce and issue reports in a variety of required formats
  • Manage and maintain Excel databases of surveyed assets
  • Control document uploads/downloads via MS SharePoint
  • Submit Access to Assets (AF01) forms to Welsh Water in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and submit traffic notices to relevant local authorities
  • Support data archiving, storage, and document management
  • Process manhole cards (ad hoc) and scan drawings/plans
  • Edit photos and assist with report preparation, including monthly reporting
  • Provide administrative support to the Survey Manager, Flow Survey Manager, and Survey Coordinator

Skills, Experience And Qualifications

  • Strong administrative experience in a data-driven or technical environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with MS SharePoint and document control processes
  • Familiarity with PDF editing software (e.g., Adobe, Bluebeam Revu)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate reports
  • Experience with GIS software, particularly ArcGIS (desirable)
  • Understanding of utilities, infrastructure, or survey environments (desirable)
  • Good general education (GCSEs or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence

Our Water team designs, builds, and maintains vital UK water infrastructure, ensuring secure water supply and wastewater services.
