Job Description

Role Summary

To undertake a wide range of administrative duties and the provision of general support to the Radiology admin team.

Location

The post is based within the Radiology Department at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. There is the potential that multi-site working is required at Birmingham Women’s Hospital within the Radiology Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the Radiology Admin team, assisting as required.
  • Provide cover during annual or sick leave and assist with workload if required.
  • Become fully conversant with the Radiology computer system.
  • Answer any telephone queries from patients, other hospitals, GPs, other departments within the hospital or re-direct them to the relevant person or take messages as appropriate.
  • Support the booking team in booking appointments accurately using IT systems in line with urgent requests, departmental waiting list, adhering to the Trust’s current waiting times and protocols. Ensure SOPs are always followed.
  • Assist the IR team with their booking processes.
  • Provide reception cover during absences of other reception staff.
  • Sending text messages to patients regarding appointments/cancellations.
  • Calling patients if lists are to be cancelled at short notice.
  • Undertake scanning of documents, filing in correct folders.
  • Assist with any other administrative duties the team require.
