Job Description
To provide flexible and efficient clerical administrative support to the Imaging Services within the Specialist Cancer and Support Services Care Group, in order to deliver a high-quality administration service for our patients.
The post holder will be responsible for a variety of administration tasks in a busy CT booking office. The role is to ensure that patients are called to mutually agree their appointment, this requires good communication and telephone skills.
The post holder will have skills in all areas of administrative functions to enable them to support the patient pathways and waiting lists.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, carers, clinicians and managers and all other staff working internally and externally to the Trust.
- Communicate clearly, concisely with compassion.
- Operational use of Imaging and Trust Information Systems (RIS, Lorenzo, Web V) to register patients attending the departments for examination, ensuring the data entered is accurate and correct.
- Answer telephone queries in a timely manner, referring them to the appropriate person where necessary.
- Make appointments within the Imaging Information Systems for patient referrals either via telephone from patients and GP requests, or face to face with the patient, in accordance with Departmental Policies and in line with current Divisional directives and waiting times.
- Required to be proactive and able to work on own initiative.
- Understand and adhere to the concept of Confidentiality to ensure that this important aspect of care is not breached.
- Any other duties consistent with the banding of the post which may be required from time to time.
