About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised, efficient, and effective administrator to join the Administration team at the de Ferrers Academy. This role is critical in supporting the smooth running of reception, finance, and safeguarding while ensuring:

  • Administrative processes and routines are well-established and robust
  • Wider staff teams operate efficiently and effectively
  • Additional administrative support is provided across the academy as required

The successful candidate will demonstrate: ✅ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy ✅ Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders ✅ Adaptability with occasional tasks outside core responsibilities

A plus: Familiarity with school systems like SIMS and Class Charts (not essential).


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain administrative routines (reception, finance, safeguarding)
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance across systems
  • Support staff and stakeholders with information requests
  • Coordinate administrative workflows to improve efficiency
  • Represent the academy in operational and logistical tasks
  • Support safeguarding procedures through accurate record-keeping

Person Specification

Essential

🔹 Excellent organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills 🔹 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 🔹 Strong confidentiality and discretion 🔹 fluent written and spoken English 🔹 UK right-to-work documentation

Preferred

✔ Familiarity with school administration software (e.g., SIMS, Class Charts) ✔ Experience in a multi-faceted admin role (finance, safeguarding, HR) ✔ Experience in an Educational or charitable sector
