An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a highly respected, Chartered financial planning firm based in the heart of the City of London. Established for many years, the business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering independent, holistic financial planning to high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners, with professionalism, technical excellence, and long-term client relationships at the core of everything it does. The firm is recognised as one of the relatively small number of Chartered Financial Planning businesses in the UK, reflecting its commitment to the very highest professional standards.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager who will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the company. This is a varied and highly influential position, offering responsibility across operations, finance, compliance, HR, technology, and business management. Working closely with the Directors, you will ensure the business operates efficiently, remains fully compliant, and continues to deliver an exceptional service to both clients and employees.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, responsibilities will include:
Finance & Business Operations
- Overseeing the day-to-day operational running of the business
- Reconciling business income within the CRM system
- Assisting with the preparation of management and company accounts
- Managing monthly payroll
- Company bank reconciliations
- P11D administration
- Managing introducer payments
- Overseeing the firm's third-party technology platforms and software providers

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Managing FCA and regulatory reporting, including GABRIEL submissions
- Maintaining Appointed Representative compliance
- Liaising with the FCA and external compliance consultants
- Managing the firm's Training & Competence Scheme
- Monitoring adviser file reviews and Management Information (MI)
- Maintaining CPD records and Chartered status renewals
- Managing Professional Indemnity Insurance renewals
- Chairing Investment Committee and Proposition Committee meetings
- Conducting adviser 1-2-1 meetings
HR & People Management
- Managing recruitment activities
- Preparing employment contracts and maintaining staff handbook
- Coordinating annual staff reviews
- Organising staff incentives and employee engagement initiatives
Business Administration
- Managing IT systems, hardware, software, and cyber security
- Organising board meetings
- Supporting delivery of the business plan
- Coordinating marketing initiatives
- Managing office facilities and supplier relationships
- Working closely with external accountants and professional advisers
About You
The successful individual is likely to have:
- Previous Operations Manager, Practice Manager, or Senior Administration experience within a regulated financial services environment
- At least five years' experience within financial planning, wealth management, or another FCA-regulated business
- Experience managing operational processes and supporting senior leadership
- Strong understanding of FCA regulation and compliance
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using CRM/back-office systems
- Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Degree educated (preferred)
- Level 4 Diploma, Prince2 qualification, or accounting qualification would be advantageous but are not essential

- Salary of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
