Complex Emotional Needs Services (CENS) Administration Services
An opportunity has arisen for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) permanent B3 Administration Officer to join our transforming Complex Emotional Needs Service.
About the Role
This is an exciting time for North Cumbria Adult Mental Health Services, which are undergoing significant transformation. Administration services play a crucial role in supporting this agenda, making this an ideal post for organised, responsive, and motivated individuals committed to change management principles.
This role offers a development opportunity for those aiming to advance within NHS administration, with training and development support via CNTW Academy. Full support will be provided by the on-site administration team, though occasional travel may be required to support colleagues across other North Cumbria bases.
Key Responsibilities
The Post Holder will be responsible for:
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the administration office
- Secretarial duties, including:
- Processing referrals
- Coordination of clinics and general administrative tasks
- Delivering customer/client-focused administration (within the last 12 months) with strong customer care skills—both in-person and over the telephone
- Efficient minute-taking, including live typing, and ensuring clear action tracking
- Diary and workload management
- Ability to self-direct, remain motivated, and contribute positively as a team member
- Demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Undertaking additional duties as required by the Administration Team Lead

Essential Requirements
- Proven secretarial experience in a team-based environment
- 12+ months’ experience in a customer/client-facing role
- Competent use of Microsoft Office packages, with excellent keyboard skills (essential for preparing letters, reports, and other documentation)
- Strong organisational skills to structure and prioritise daily tasks
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Familiarity with electronic patient record systems (e.g., RiO) – training provided
- Current full UK driving licence with access to a car
Training & Development
- Training on RiO (if new to electronic patient records)
- Support to build experience in essential NHS administration skills
- Lifelong Learning recognition through CNTW Academy
