Administration Officer - Medical Oncology
Permanent Full Time
- Salary Classification: Administration Officer Level 3 (year 1 - 2)
- Remuneration: $37.27 to $38.44 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options [https://www.prosperity.com.au/].
Please note that this position is based on site at Calvary Mater. Hybrid work arrangements (such as working from home) cannot be accommodated due to the nature and requirements of this role.
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Medical Oncology Team!
The Administration Officer provides comprehensive administrative assistance to the Medical Oncology teams, including timely and accurate requests of pathology and radiological results, writing and circulation of meeting agendas, attending meetings, compiling meeting data, compile and distribute meeting recommendation letters as appropriate.
Medical Oncologists work within multidisciplinary groups (including radiation Oncologists, Surgeons, Haematologists, palliative Care Physicians, Nursing & Allied Health Professionals) bringing together a wide range of skilled professionals to deliver the best current available care for cancer patients within an integrated cancer centre.
Your main duties will include:
- Providing comprehensive administrative assistance, including telephone calls, taking messages, collection and distribution of mail, preparing correspondence and documentation, filing, maintaining diary, arranging meetings, agendas and minutes; sending emails, preparation of presentation and conference material; and other administrative duties as directed.
- Scheduling and rescheduling of patient appointments and the preparation and distribution of patient referrals and relevant medical documentation and records.

About You:
- Proven ability to work unsupervised and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated initiative.
- Competence in administrative and general office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and/or experience in a healthcare office or patient administration environment would be desirable.
