About The Role

Administration Officer – Braintree District Council

£12.75 PAYE / £16.33 Umbrella per hour

Braintree, Essex

Full-Time, Temporary

37 Hours Per Week

Closing Date: Tuesday 28th July 2026

Essex County Council are delighted to be supporting Braintree District Council in recruiting 2 Administration Officers on a 6-month contract.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site, 5 days per week followed by hybrid working after a successful training period.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to obtain a DBS.

The Opportunity:

  • To undertake full reviews of all Council Tax Support applications using the Civica Open Revenues system, in accordance with Braintree District Council’s Council Tax Support Scheme.
  • To support customers in respect of enquiries generated by those reviews via email, telephone and face to face.

Role Accountabilities:

  • To undertake a review of current applications in our Council Tax Support caseload in accordance with the appropriate scheme.
  • To update the customer accounts using the Civica system, to incorporate any changes identified.
  • To use the DWP Searchlight system in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Local Authority Support Team and the Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure customer income and household details are updated in accordance with the review.
  • To ensure the reviews focus on higher-risk, higher-value, and older cases.
  • To manage customer enquiries by email, telephone and face to face.
