Administration Team Leader

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH)

Administration Team Leader - Haematology

UCLH, a complex UK NHS trust, is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Administration Team Leader to join the Haematology team. This role involves providing supervision and leadership to an outpatient administration team to ensure a high-quality, effective, and efficient service focused on positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and Leadership:

    • Provide expert administrative support to multidisciplinary clinical teams.
    • Guide teams through complex pathways.
    • Monitor waiting lists and service capacity to meet targets.
  • Service Improvement and Strategic Direction:

    • Contribute to service improvement initiatives.
    • Contribute to the strategic direction of the administration service.
  • Management Duties:

    • Manage complex booking issues.
    • Ensure accurate data capture.
    • Oversee team development and rota management.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise a specialty administration team.
    • Ensure a high-quality, efficient patient administrative service.
  • Oversight:

    • Oversee waiting lists and RTT performance.
    • Coordinate appointments and referrals.
  • Communication:

    • Resolve complex queries and complaints.
    • Act as the point of contact between patients, clinicians, and managers.
  • Management:

    • Responsible for staff management, training, and performance.
    • Ensure data quality and reporting.
  • Contribution:

    • Contribute to service improvement, capacity management, and change initiatives across the specialty.
