Administrative Assistant

Purfleet Mon-Friday - 9.00am-5.00pm

Main Purpose of the Role

DSV are recruiting for the role of an on-site Administrative Assistant at DSV Road in Purfleet. The role will focus on supporting our internal stakeholders and execution of various administrative tasks which support the handling of road freight shipments.

The successful candidate, who will be reporting to the “Operation Centre Land” Supervisor, will be responsible for and deal with day-to-day queries within our Road freight division, investigating issues and liaising with other internal departments within DSV UK.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Timely and effective communication with partners and internal departments via email/telephone
  • Updating / verifying the DSV Transport Management System with customer booking details
  • Liaise with operations and overseas offices to ensure customer commitments are delivered upon
  • Effective daily monitoring to ensure collections and deliveries are completed within the agreed timelines
  • Proactive problem solving with customers and colleagues when issues arise
  • Comply with and understand basic customs regulations when transporting freight to/from the UK
  • General day-to-day administrative duties.

About You

  • Highly organised and have high attention to detail
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and external customers
  • Preferably some knowledge of Customs processes or systems
  • Have ability to work under pressure
  • Be a good problem solver and inquisitive to seek out solutions
