At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We’re looking for an experienced, organised and proactive individual to join Cancer Research Horizons as an Administrative Assistant.

You will provide administrative support to the Therapeutic Innovation team across our sites, working alongside the wider team to provide an efficient, comprehensive and proactive support function.

About The Team

We are a small team of five who provide support for our three sites across the UK. The Administrative Assistant position is based at our Babraham laboratory which is our largest site at around seventy-five staff members. We have a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration, and our team thrives on mutual respect and open communication.

We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable using the Microsoft suite, especially Outlook and Teams. You don’t need to have a scientific background: to be successful in this role, you will need to enjoy organising, multitasking and working independently as well as collaboratively with the rest of the admin team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
