Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant (School/Nursery) – Temporary Role

Job Overview

Closing Date: 17th July 2026 Contract Type: Temporary for 1 year Salary: £19,575 – £20,436 per annum Hours: 25 hours per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled Administrative Assistant to support the efficient day-to-day operations of our nursery. The successful candidate will have experience working in an office environment, including strong knowledge of office practice, budget monitoring, financial/cash handling, and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee general administration of nursery records, financial recordkeeping, and office services
  • Maintain nursery filing systems with accuracy and organisation
  • Support nursery operations with excellent confidentiality and discretion
  • Handle office and financial tasks, including financial monitoring and cash management
  • Foster good communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with children, families, and colleagues
  • Lead with initiative and contribute to your own professional development

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven office and administrative administrative experience
  • Experience with budget monitoring, financial recordkeeping, and cash handling
  • Ability to manage and maintain organisational systems, filing structures, and deadlines
  • Understanding of health and safety, confidentiality, and professional discretion

Essential Skills

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work with children and families
  • Proactively supports personal and professional development
