HSB (UK and Ireland) consists of the parent company HSB Engineering Insurance Limited (HSBEIL) together with its two UK subsidiaries:
- HSB Engineering Inspection Services Limited (HSBEISL)
- A regulated Managed General Agent (MGA), MD Insurance Services Limited (MDIS), which trades as Premier Guarantee or LABC Warranty.
Collectively, HSB is the UK and Ireland’s only group of companies solely focused on specialist engineering and technology insurance solutions and risk-focused inspection services and assessments for its customers.

Job Purpose
Under supervision from Underwriting Management and adhering strictly to FCA Principles and Guidelines, the job holder will:
- Act as the gatekeeper for data provided by external customers and internal systems, including our Extranet.
- Provide efficient administration support for Bond accounts, including data input and general underwriting department services.
Note: This is a fixed-term contract, ending 15/11/2026.

Admin Assistant:
- Provide comprehensive support and administration for the Underwriting Management Team, ensuring accurate and timely data input on MDIS systems as directed.
- Liaise with sales representatives regarding applications and chase outstanding information from both internal and external customers.
- Ensure maintenance of adequate client records to facilitate FCA compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Collate and issue documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with internal parties.
- Uphold strict adherence to Company procedures and external compliance regulations.
Bond Accounts:
- Oversee the administration of Bond accounts based on provided information.
- Manage the Bonds registration process, including query resolution and issuing relevant documentation.
- Utilise systems and tools, such as Creditsafe, D tun B, and Companies House, for accurate internal data transfers.
- Ensure all data is clean, non-duplicated, and accurate within agreed service levels.
- Process DocuSign for Quote Acceptance generation.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in dealing with both internal and external customers on sensitive, detailed matters.
- Ability to make accurate recommendations based on consultations, aligned with authority levels and company guidelines.
- Strong initiate, prioritisation, and deadline management.
- Knowledge of FCA Principles and regulatory relevance to the role.
- Competent use of IT systems and software applications.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and organises thorough filing systems.
- Understanding of customer service standards and procedures.
- Professional, courteous telephone manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills for written and verbal communication across all levels.
- Strong organisational ability with geared planning skills.
- High proficiency in general administration and clerical tasks.
