  • NWIP, LE12 8TX
  • HBEP Glenfield, LE3 8BQ

Contract Details

  • Salary: £26,832 – £28,146 per annum (pro-rata for part-time, pending pay award)
  • Working Hours: 37 hours per week (42 weeks term time)
  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Closing Date: 8th July 2026
  • Interview Date: 15th July 2026

About the Role

This vital role ensures efficient and effective administrative support for the day-to-day operations of Oakfield School’s secondary provision. Your key tasks include managing data systems, maintaining deadlines, and supporting children with challenging behaviours or complex SEMH needs.

The school is Leicestershire’s specialist provision for permanently excluded children (age 4–19), delivering bespoke education to help them succeed beyond mainstream settings. You’ll collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance a flexible data-driven approach, directly impacting pupil progress.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in education administration, particularly with Special Education data systems (MIS and FMS a plus).
  • Strong empathy and resilience, with the ability to engage with students facing emotional/behavioural challenges.
  • Fluency in ICT (including financial systems) and a knack for prioritising workloads under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Leadership & Support

  • Provide day-to-day administrative backing, managing:
    • Office software/equipment
    • Student attendance monitoring
    • Financial responsibilities (procurement, attendance reporting)
  • Maintain a welcoming reception service for visitors, adhering to health and safety + child protection protocols.

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Qualifications:
    • Level 2 Maths/Numeracy + English/Literacy (equivalencies accepted).
    • Level 3 Business/Administration qualification or relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • Proven track record in a school office, managing multi-tasking under deadline pressure.
    • Deep familiarity with ICT tools, MIS, FMS and financial software.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Accuracy, reliability, and professional discretion (e.g., handling sensitive pupil data).
    • Proactive, solution-driven approach to resolving office challenges.

Desirable Added Value

  • Prior work with SEMH provisions or autistic pupils.
  • Knowledge of Leicestershire Council’s education systems (a plus).
