Administrative Officer – Rhydyfelin, Rhondda Cynon Taf

Salary: £24,546 per annum Location: Rhydyfelin, Rhondda Cynon Taf – Situated for easy commute to M4 Cardiff and A470 Pontypridd/Merthyr Tydfil Contract/Hours: Permanent, Part-time (21 hrs/week)

About the Service – Rhondda Short Breaks

Providing short-term care for children and young people (aged 5–18) in Rhondda Cynon Taff with:

  • Physical disabilities
  • Learning disabilities
  • Complex needs

Our high-quality overnight stays give children valuable breaks from home, while families get vital respite.


The Role – Administrative Officer

This critical administrative role supports the department with finance, operations, and HR tasks while accommodating a 24/7 service. Most hours run Monday–Friday, though some flexibility will be required.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience in an administrative role with strong communication skills.
  • Advanced IT proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to converse professionally with senior staff from varied backgrounds.
  • Experience taking minutes during internal meetings.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ability to confidently handle sensitive information.

Desirable:

  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Purchase Orders, budget tracking).
  • Experience in social/digital media platforms.
  • Knowledge of data protection protocols.
