About First Bridge School

First Bridge School is a SEND and autism specialist primary school for pupils aged 2 to 11 with complex developmental needs, located in London.


The Role

We are seeking an experienced school administrator who serves as the first point of contact for families, professionals, and staff at First Bridge School.

The administrator isn’t just administrative—they shape the entire experience of our school, often through their calm, supportive, and professional interactions.

This role manages the front-of-house operation, offering administrative support to leadership staff while ensuring every interaction aligns with our professional, child-centred ethos.


Key Responsibilities

  • Front-of-House & Communications

    • Manage all incoming calls, emails, and visitor enquiries with professionalism and timeliness.
    • Greet and sign visitors in compliance with safeguarding and school security protocols.
  • Administrative Support

    • Maintain accurate pupil attendance records and follow up on unexplained absences.
    • Assist school leadership with correspondence, data entry, and scheduling.
    • Manage and maintain pupil and staff records within the school’s management information system (MIS).

  • Logistics & Coordination

    • Handle incoming/outgoing post, deliveries, and courier arrangements.
    • Support facilities management and coordinate school supplies.
  • Community & Safeguarding

    • Assist with parent/carer communications (letters, newsletters, appointment reminders).
    • Uphold strict safeguarding and confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

Essential

✔ Proven experience in a school administrative, front-of-house, or similar role. ✔ Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently. ✔ Strong verbal and written communication in high-pressure environments. ✔ Confident professional telephone manner. ✔ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). ✔ Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. ✔ A calm, approachable attitude ideal for a supportive, busy school environment. ✔ Full commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a school/educational setting.
  • Familiarity with school management systems (MIS).
  • Understanding of the needs of SEND pupils and families.
  • Experience working with young people with additional/autism needs.
