About The Role

The role is to support the delivery of a comprehensive administrative and support function to the service area to meet the needs of internal and external customers. The core role is to provide administrative assistance to the department to support the contribution in meeting the business needs of the service area. Key tasks:

  • Work as part of a placement (home) finding team, providing administrative support.
  • Lead on specific areas of admin support as directed, e.g., organisations of panels.
  • Attend daily service meetings, liaise with members of finance, and record data accurately for reporting purposes.

About You

It is a busy and fast-paced role, working to tight deadlines, and you need to be able to work in this way. Everyone works together, and we are all passionate about finding the right home for every child or young person.

We have monthly team meetings and work in the office 1 to 2 days a week. You can work in the office daily if this suits. We are based at Shire Hall.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
