The Role

The Finance Systems Team oversees the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra), encompassing time, billing, expenses, vendor management, tax reporting, and financial operations.

We are seeking a Data Administrator with Aderant and finance operations experience to join our EMEA team. This critical role involves supporting the day-to-day function of finance systems, providing technical assistance, and ensuring data integrity across the firm’s operations.

Key focus areas:

  • Delivering ongoing data monitoring and master data management
  • Supporting data acquisition, cleansing, and preparation for stakeholders
  • Ensuring financial, billing, and operational systems remain reliable and efficient

Key Responsibilities

User Support

  • Direct assistance to fee earners, secretaries, and finance operations staff regarding data changes, requests, and updates.
  • Resolve user queries and ensure smooth data access.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Monitor data system health and performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, anomalies, and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors, IT, and finance operations to resolve logged issues.
  • Proactively mitigate data errors and system discrepancies.

Data Monitoring & Management

  • Apply data governance and stewardship standards to financial systems.
  • Maintain data taxonomies, schemas, and mapping while enforcing access permissions.
  • Conduct regular data cleansing, deduplication, and remediation.
  • Adapt data structures to align with evolving business needs.

Data Acquisition & Preparation

  • Source, collect, clean, and structure data for analytical and operational use.
  • Utilise SQL queries and logic when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Understand stakeholder requirements and identify enhancement opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to test and implement improvements.
  • Optmise procedures and processes for internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Experience Required

We are looking for a proactive, solutions-focused professional with financial systems experience, effective stakeholder communication, and a data-driven mindset.

Must-have qualities:

  • Degree qualification or 3+ years in a similar data administration, finance operations, or IT support role.
  • Proven customer service ability—resolving queries efficiently and engaging with users.
  • Hands-on data management experience, particularly with finance practice management systems (FPMS).
  • Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to execute queries independently.
  • Familiarity with structured ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
  • Understanding of core finance processes (general ledger, AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, reporting).
