Administrator – Quality Assurance, £27,318pa, Permanent, 35 hours per week
It is an exciting time to join the Law Society of Scotland. We have an opportunity within the Regulation Team for a Civil Legal Aid Quality Assurance Administrator. You would be joining the team that is responsible for regulating all Scottish solicitors.
The team do important and rewarding work. You will play a key role in public protection, maintaining confidence in the legal profession and quality assuring the work of legal aid solicitors. We want to get even better at what we do. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to improve how our work is done.
Key Responsibilities for this role
This role involves administering the Civil Legal Aid Quality Assurance Scheme, including coordinating the peer review process and supporting the work of the Civil Legal Aid Quality Assurance Sub-committee. You will report to the Head of Regulatory Compliance and be responsible for varied and interesting work relating to quality assuring legal aid solicitors. You will use your communication and organisational skills to work with external stakeholders such as legal aid solicitors and the Scottish Legal Aid Board. You will also provide support to various regulatory sub-committees and act as the website editor for the Regulation Directorate.

Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Candidates should have a degree level qualification or equivalent experience working in a busy and demanding administrative support environment.
We are looking for a person who is motivated with excellent organisational and administrative skills. You will be someone who enjoys being busy and doing work that makes a difference. You will be able to work independently, prioritise workloads and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
The post will involve a combination of working from home and at the Law Society’s offices in Edinburgh.
