National Online School Administrator – Wimbledon, UK

About the Role

The National Online School is seeking an efficient Administrator to provide high-quality administrative support, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of core school systems and processes. This critical role involves close collaboration with the School Business Manager and wider teams to support:

  • Administrative coordination
  • Attendance processes
  • Student support functions
  • Statutory and organisational compliance

About the Organisation

The National Online School (NOS) supports UK-based neurodiverse pupils aged 7–19 with complex special educational needs and disabilities, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASC)
  • Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Trauma-related behaviours (e.g., emotionally based school avoidance, frequent placement breakdowns)

Our personalised, therapeutic education programmes employ a holistic approach—balancing rigorous academic progress with specialist vocational resettlement and therapeutic support. We provide high-quality, individualised care which enables continued therapeutic engagement in the home environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Core Administrative Coordination:

    • Manage and maintain school-wide administrative processes with accuracy and consistency.
    • Liaise with student families, teachers, and external agencies to coordinate timely delivery of support.
  • Attendance & Student Data:

    • Monitor and track attendance robustly, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and organisational requirements.
    • Maintain up-to-date records on student data and ensure confidentiality protocols are adhered to at all times.

  • Process & Compliance:

    • Ensure operational procedures are executed in line with statutory regulations and NOS policies.
    • Support reporting, including reporting to trusts/government funding bodies where required.
  • CommunicationSupport:

    • Serve as the school’s central point of communication: mail distribution, internal correspondence, and stakeholder liaison.
    • Use clear, empathetic writing for reports, correspondence, and urgent escalations.
  • Collaboration & Resource Management:

    • Work remotely and in coordination with teams—leveraging tools like Microsoft Teams, portals and databases to share and retrieve required materials.
    • Assist in problem-solving administrative challenges and proactively identify process improvements.

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in administrative support within education or a similar sector (e.g., teaching support, training, welfare).
  • Confident in managing administrative systems, compliance data, and complex records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder liaison.
  • Demonstrated customer service ( Responding to queries with empathy and initiative while escalating as needed).
  • Strong organisational and time management, with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience coordinating remote teams and servicing them efficiently.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills—ability to make decisions and recommend solutions based on evidence.

  • Team Player & Initiative Takers: Capable of self-motivation whilst working to delegated objectives.
  • Detail-Oriented: An eye for accuracy ensures no corners are cut on sensitive information.
  • Compassionate: Understanding of educational challenges faced by neurodivergent youth.
