Admissions Coordinator (Day Shifts)
Position Summary
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for conducting comprehensive data validation. Data validation components include:
- Insurance verification
- Patient demographics
- Determining legal guardianship
- Point of service collections
This position requires integral communication with:
- Patients
- Insurance companies
- Department administrators
- Physicians
- Other departmental staff
To ensure an ideal patient experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Gathers, validates, and documents required registration data; obtains all required forms and signatures to properly:
- Identify the legal guardian
- Map insurance plans
- Verifies and documents eligibility and benefits for all third-party payers to ensure proper reimbursement for services.
- Obtains complete and accurate:
- Demographic information
- Billing information
- By accurately identifying:
- Insurance plan
- Subscriber information
- Ensures proper reimbursement for services.
- Resolves all patients’ financial issues by arranging:
- State or federal programs
- Self-pay options
- Payment plans
- Accurately interprets insurance verification to communicate benefit information to the responsible party for point-of-service collections.
- Collects:
- Time-of-service payments
- Prior balances related to patient responsibility
- Provides an excellent patient-centered experience to:
- Physicians
- Coworkers
- Patients and families
- All other internal and external customers

Qualifications
- Minimum educational requirement: High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent achievement.
- 1-year minimum experience in:
- Insurance verification and interpretation
- Billing and collections
- A comprehensive understanding of managed care contracts (preferred).
- 1-year minimum of healthcare experience working in:
- Health plan
- Physician practice
- Surgery center
- Hospital setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of:
- County programs
- State programs (e.g., Medicaid)
- Federal programs (e.g., Medicare)
Compensation
- Salary Range:
- Minimum: $16.25/hour
- Maximum: $25.99/hour
Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is listed as $0, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening before further compensation discussions with hiring authorities.
