Cardiff Sixth Form College, Cambridge (CSFCC) is a purpose built college for highly ambitious students, located in the centre of Cambridge.
CSFCC have an exciting opportunity for an organised, proactive and personable Admissions Officer to join our Admissions and Marketing team.
The Admissions Officer is a key member of the Admissions and Marketing team who contributes significantly to the smooth and professional working of the College by managing the admissions process for prospective families using Salesforce, a customer relationship management (CRM) system. This role involves efficiently processing applications, assisting families with inquiries and ensuring a smooth transition for admitted students into our institution.
As a public-facing ambassador of the College, they demonstrate the highest professional standards at all times. Exceptional administrative skills, flexibility, the ability to work under guidance to deadlines as well as being self-directed and showing initiative are key characteristics of the post-holder.
The Admissions Officer supports all members of the community by communicating effectively, building relationships and being actively engaged in college life. Working alongside the Marketing & Events Executive, they will support with key events related to the admissions and overall PR function of the College, including Open Days, new-joiner events and the graduation ceremony.
Main Responsibilities
- Salesforce Utilisation
- Utilise Salesforce CRM to manage and track all aspects of the admissions process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records within Salesforce.
- Generate reports and dashboards to analyse admissions data and trends.

Application Processing
- Review and process applications, ensuring all required documents are complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with academic departments to assess and evaluate applicants' qualifications.
- Interview prospective students and undertake internal and remote invigilation as required.

Student Assistance
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, answering inquiries and providing guidance on the admissions process.
- Conduct information sessions and workshops for prospective students and families.
- Coordinate Travel arrangements (Pre-Arrivals)

Admissions Events
- Assist in the planning and execution of admissions events, including open days, information sessions, graduation events and orientation of new families.
- Use Salesforce to manage event registration and attendance.

Decision Notifications
- Communicate admission decisions to applicants in a timely and professional manner.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate enrolment and orientation for admitted students.

Data Integrity
- Ensure the accuracy and security of applicant data in compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Continuously update and improve data management processes.

Outreach and Recruitment
- Collaborate with the marketing and student recruitment teams to develop strategies for attracting prospective students.
- Attend Dukes Education Admissions and Marketing Masterclasses and other recruitment events as needed.

- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of admissions processes and procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on admissions metrics and outcomes
Safeguarding Responsibilities
CSFCC is committed to its responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students in line with government recommendations and policies. Due to this, all staff at the college have a responsibility for safeguarding and reporting any concerns regarding students to the DSL.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Person Specification
- Experience in a similar role or relevant training/qualifications
- Experience within, or understanding of, complex organisations (e.g. schools or similar environments)
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work efficiently
- Confidence in identifying and suggesting process improvements
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
- Strong IT skills and confidence using a range of systems
- Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce (desirable)
- Familiarity with school MIS systems such as iSAMS (desirable)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to high-quality service
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
