Cardiff Metropolitan University Admissions Officer

Cardiff Metropolitan University is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Admissions Officer to support the activities of a busy centralised Admissions Unit. The post holder will assist with all processes concerned with the admittance of students to the university.

The Admissions Officer Role

The Admissions Officer role plays a vital part in processing student applications and ensuring a positive applicant experience to enable the University to admit students.

You Will Support With

  • Making and processing decisions in accordance with the Universities selection criteria.
  • Liaising with School admissions tutors and professional services staff ensuring that applications progress through the process meeting service level targets.
  • Assessing supporting documentation and carry out initial fee assessment.
  • Maintaining admissions records with high levels of accuracy ensuring the correct data is supplied for external bodies.
  • Providing a customer focused and efficient information and advice service to applicants and potential applicants about the full range of educational opportunities offered by the University.
  • The delivery of Marketing and Recruitment events and activities such as open days, applicant days, confirmation and clearing.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a similar role is required, working in a busy environment, providing an excellent level of service to applicants, staff and external bodies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Higher Education Admissions and the Student Recruitment process is preferred.
  • Similar administrative experience and skills will be considered.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work effectively under tight deadlines, under pressure and with competing priorities.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn independently and to master and apply new knowledge and skills quickly.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of customer service.
  • Detailed understanding of both internal and external admissions policies and procedures.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to all tasks undertaken.
