Head of Admissions | Independent School | South West London/Surrey Border | Interim Contract

The Role

We are seeking an experienced admissions professional to lead our pupil recruitment, enrolment, and retention efforts. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring deep expertise in admissions management to maintain a strong presence among prospective families and the local community. As the primary custodian of the parent and student journey, you will manage the full enrolment pipeline while beautifully articulating our unique school ethos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full admissions function, ensuring a warm, highly personalised experience for families from inquiry to enrolment.
  • Maintain accurate data on the school database and oversee statutory compliance, GDPR, and enrolment documentation.
  • Monitor pipeline metrics and provide weekly updates on pupil numbers and forecasting to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate assessment days, process registrations, manage formal offers, and maintain accurate records.
  • Lead the planning and execution of Open Mornings, school tours, and education fairs.
  • Host private tours for prospective families and educational agents.
  • Engage local feeder schools for key entry points (11+, 13+, and 16+) and build strong relationships with internal academic staff.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record of success in admissions management within the independent education sector.
  • Proficient with school MIS/admissions databases, Excel, and Word, with a keen eye for data accuracy.
  • Comfortable managing daily administrative compliance while simultaneously driving strategy.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm, welcoming demeanour.
  • Deeply aligned with a school culture rooted in kindness, respect, and collaborative excellence.
  • Available immediately to hit the ground running.
