Position Summary

Our subsidiary in the UK is seeking an experienced AEM Developer to join our Professional Services Consulting Team.

In this role, you'll work closely with the Contiem team to design and deliver customer-focused solutions for creating, managing, and publishing technical documentation. These solutions will primarily be built using Adobe AEM Guides, Assets and Sites and Adobe Workfront, serving our portfolio of blue-chip clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of technologies to develop customized, integrated solutions for component-based content management and publishing.

We're looking for a skilled developer with a solid background in building complex AEM components tailored to client needs, including the integration of diverse back-end systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with key AEM building blocks - such as templates, components, dialogs, and widgets - along with a thorough understanding of AEM development practices and deployment processes, especially to manage and deliver DITA XML structured content.

Required Experience

  • Deploy and configure AEM Assets and AEM Guides using your knowledge of the systems and environments can be implemented, customized, and enhanced.
  • Support and further enhance existing Contiem-developed AEM integrations with third-party tools e.g., PoolParty, the semantic taxonomy management tool.
  • Deploy and configure content and publishing pipelines.
  • Become familiar with the DITA Open Toolkit (an XSLT-based publishing tool).
  • Solve technical challenges related to XML content and DITA-based content pipelines.

In this role, you will either bring or develop experience in the following areas:

  • A deep understanding of the AEM platform with a focus on AEM Guides, with the ability to customize back-end functionality to meet client needs in the context of an XML publishing workflow - such as developing servlets, schedulers, and custom workflows.
  • Proficiency in working with the Apache Sling API and JCR Node API.
  • Hands-on experience with AEM back-end development, including OSGi services, servlets, schedulers, listeners, and workflow customization.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and integration, particularly jQuery and HTML5.
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs with AEM.
  • Strong programming skills in Java.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Oxygen XML editing environment and the varied and appropriate methods for customization using Java-based APIs.
  • Familiarity with the DITA XML format and its use in content pipelines.
  • Familiarity with the DITA Open Toolkit and ways to configure and deploy it.

Mandatory Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • AEM Assets or Guides experience is a must.
  • Demonstrate a strong affinity with Java code development and a familiarity with DOM processing.
  • Be willing to drive your knowledge acquisition independently, and to work with the team to apply that knowledge to client solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to clients.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong focus on problem solving and identification of systemic issues that can lead to an optimized process or workflow.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to help resolve a wide range of issues.

Travel

Frequent travel is not required but the postholder may be called upon occasionally to travel to clients' premises internationally.

Work Hours & Location:

  • Full-time position with hours of operation from Monday to Friday, ideally at our Sutton Office.

Job offers will be contingent on a successful BPSS clearance checks.
