Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Job Title: Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: Leicester Start Date: ASAP Rate: £25.00–£30.00 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time

JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join a busy acute inpatient service in Leicester. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced therapist to work within a fast-paced hospital environment, supporting adults with a range of communication and swallowing disorders.

You will manage an adult acute inpatient caseload, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for patients with complex needs, including dysphagia. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting patient recovery, safety, and quality of life during their hospital admission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will: • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting. • Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual patient needs. • Undertake dysphagia assessments and contribute to safe swallowing management plans. • Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing, and therapy colleagues. • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards. • Contribute to service development and clinical discussions as appropriate to banding level.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
