Consultant Psychiatrist – Exceptional Mental Health Clinic (Leeds)
You will be working for one of UK’s leading healthcare providers in this fantastic opportunity within their mental health clinic in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
This service focuses on providing treatment for women with mental health disorders, including personality disorders, and is led by a full multidisciplinary team.

About the Role
As part of the Consultant Psychiatrist position, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality mental health care. Key responsibilities include:
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including attending:
- Multidisciplinary ward rounds
- Risk reviews
- Strategic reviews
- Development of a therapeutic milieu
- Acting as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
- Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in:
- Assessment
- Formulation
- Treatment of patients
- Participating in:
- Management meetings
- Clinical governance meetings related to hospital services
- Development of service strategy
- Contributing to in-house training programmes
- Offering supervision, particularly to junior medical staff

You will be expected to maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and revalidation requirements as per the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.

Essential Requirements
- Full GMC Registration
Preferred & Beneficial Experience/Skills
- Ability to be innovative and imaginative, capable of initiating corporate decisions
- Deep understanding of current developments in psychiatry and broader mental health
- Substantial knowledge of:
- Change management
- Relevant legislation
- Contemporary issues in mental health
- Purchaser/provider contractual issues
- Previous Consultant experience in a management role
