Adult Support Worker (Physical & Learning Disabilities) Apprenticeship
Voyage Care is looking for a new Support Worker Apprentice to study for their Adult Care Worker Level 2 qualification. You will assist with daily living activities, learn essential care skills, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere within our service whilst gaining a recognised qualification in health and social care.

Responsibilities
- Communicate with people we support using appropriate methods, including tact, empathy, and diplomacy, to foster good relationships. Training will be provided for specialist communication methods.
- Once trained and supervised, assist people we support with personal care, including bathing, to maintain a high standard of hygiene. This may include moving techniques, using hoists, and repositioning service users.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care plans to encourage people we support to take an active role in daily living and ensure the appropriate level of individual care and support is provided.
- Participate in daily outings, activities, or recreational pursuits to assist people we support with aspects of their daily life.
- Undertake and/or assist with household activities such as cooking, mealtimes, laundering, and cleaning to promote a healthy environment and independent living.
- Record and complete appropriate documentation accurately and informatively.
- Handle cash daily for errands and service users’ monies to facilitate appropriate financial management.
- Undertake and complete the Apprenticeship Programme within the agreed timescale, including induction criteria.
- Undertake any other relevant training to professionally develop and gain skills beneficial to the service users.
- Ensure all applicable policies and procedures are followed to comply with regulations and good practice.
- Attend, participate, and contribute to team meetings to ensure understanding of service management issues and promote team communication.

Training Information

- Hours: 35 hours a week (May include Evenings, Weekends & Public Holidays).
- Apprenticeship details: Most of your apprenticeship is spent working with hands-on experience. Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
- What you'll learn (Course contents):
- Support individuals according to their personal care/support plan.
