Social Worker (level 2)

10897 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £39,862 to £41,771 per annum | Grade J | King’s Lynn

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers (grade J and above), new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should you leave within two years of employment.

For experienced Social Workers new to Norfolk County Council, we promise to try and match or better your existing salary, providing it's in the spectrum of the grade advertised.

Are you a dynamic, motivated Social Worker looking for a role where you can make a real difference while maintaining a healthy work-life balance?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Social Worker to join our West Follow-On Team, based at Priory House in King’s Lynn. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting people following discharge from hospital, whether they are returning home or moving into care placements.

  • Manage your own caseload
  • Undertake Care Act assessments
  • Complete Mental Capacity assessments
  • Lead Section 42 safeguarding enquiries

The role requires confident decision-making, strong partnership working and a person-centred approach.

Our team works in a strengths-based, community-led way, helping people build on their own networks, relationships and local resources to achieve the outcomes that matter most to them. We are a friendly and supportive team, and students and new practitioners have told us that their induction has felt positive, welcoming and well supported.
