We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to work with the Intensive Care Unit and clinical pharmacy team.
The postholder will be providing expert pharmaceutical care to critical care patients and will need good communication, time management, and organisation skills.
As well as clinical skills, the postholder will also contribute to training and mentoring trainee pharmacists and pharmacy students, and lead and contribute to audit. Experience in managing individuals is an advantage.
Part-time / flexible working / hybrid working may be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver the clinical pharmacy service to the Intensive Care Unit, by providing a highly specialised level of pharmaceutical care. This will include attending ward rounds, carrying out comprehensive medication review using a complex series of data, ensuring that prescriptions are appropriate and safe, arranging supply, and using your independent prescribing qualification (where applicable) to optimise patient care.
- Contribute to the quality training experience and support for trainee pharmacists, pharmacy students, and trainees in the multidisciplinary team.
- Work with medical, nursing, and the site management team to facilitate patient discharges in order to maximise patient flow.
- Take the lead in developing and reviewing local guidelines and policies for ICU.
