Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Minor Injury Trained) | Bracknell Urgent Care Centre

Hours Available

Up to 40 hours available (Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

We have an amazing opportunity for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner trained in Minor Injuries to join our team at Bracknell Urgent Care Centre and grow in knowledge and experience alongside our local and extended team of clinicians.

Both full-time and part-time applications are welcome. Full-time hours are based on 40 hours per week. Successful candidates can be offered a combination of the following days: Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally, the post holder will be an Advanced Practitioner with evidence of MSc-level education in Advanced Practice. However, we will also consider applicants who have completed Level 7 postgraduate modules in at least two relevant areas, such as Advanced Physical Assessment Skills (essential), Minor Injuries (essential), Minor Illness (desirable), Health Assessment, or Disease Management, etc.

Experience In Urgent Or Emergency Care Is Essential.

Working within their defined scope of practice, the post holder works as an autonomous Practitioner to assess, diagnose and plan care for patients; including prescribing of medications where qualified to do so, and where clinically indicated.

What We're Looking For

  • A professional with current NMC / HCPC registration
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or Relevant ACP courses at Level 7 including recognised modules in Advanced Physical Assessment Skills (essential), Minor Injuries (essential), Disease Management, etc.
  • A Non-medical (V300) prescribing qualification (essential)
  • Minor Illness trained (desirable)
  • Satisfactory DBS clearance
  • Experience in urgent / emergency care is essential
  • Experience of managing acute undifferentiated presentations (desirable)
  • Ability to triage (desirable)
  • Understanding of autonomous practice within a minor illness/urgent care centre and the roles that deliver this

What We Offer (benefits)

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 annual FTE + unsociable hours (pro-rata for less than 40 hours)
  • NHS Pension with 20.6% Employer Contribution
  • 25 days (5 weeks/200 hours) annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata, if part-time); the annual leave entitlement rises with length of service
  • Extra day of leave per year for work anniversary
  • Paid for Indemnity cover
  • Unsocial hours payment at 30%, Monday to Friday after 6pm and Saturdays & Sundays

About Bracknell Urgent Care Centre

We operate out of a modern, purpose built facility with free parking and excellent transport links. BUCC offers a high standard of unscheduled care from early morning to late evening for patients attending with a wide variety of undifferentiated conditions. The centre is staffed primarily by our team of experienced Clinicians with additional support from other clinical and non-clinical members of staff. Within our Bracknell Urgent Care Centre we are building a well-established team of Salaried GPs, ANPs, and Practice Nurses.
