Vacancy Introduction
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will work within the Integrated Children with Additional Needs (ICAN) Service, providing high-level clinical expertise as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role focuses on delivering child and family-centred, evidence-based care to children and young people with neurodisability, including autism and learning disabilities.
Working across integrated locality hub teams, the ACP will contribute to improving outcomes, promoting inclusion, and supporting children and families to manage their health and wellbeing. The post holder will also play a key role in leadership, education, and service development in line with the four pillars of advanced practice.
- Undertake advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children and young people with additional needs
- Contribute to the pre-school autism assessment pathway and provide post-diagnostic support to families
- Work autonomously in clinical decision-making while collaborating effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Lead and support service development, quality improvement, and implementation of evidence-based practice
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to colleagues within the team
- Contribute to education and training of staff, students, and wider stakeholders
- Utilise clinical systems (e.g. SystmOne, ICE, Datix) to maintain accurate records and support safe clinical practice
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and the overall wellbeing of children and young people
