Advanced Electronics Engineering Manager

As our Advanced EE Manager, you’ll lead the exploration, development and maturation of emerging electrical and electronic technologies that enable the next generation of consumer products. Working alongside Advanced Development, Industrial Design and Product Management, you’ll build technical capability, develop your team and transform innovative ideas into robust proof of concepts ready for NPD.

Key Duties include:

  • Lead and develop the Advanced Electrical Engineering team, building technical capabilities and engineering excellence.
  • Define future electrical architectures, sensing technologies and advanced control strategies.
  • Drive rapid proof of concepting to de-risk technologies and demonstrate early technical feasibility.
  • Lead the integration of electronics, firmware and mechatronic systems into future product concepts alongside Advanced Development, ID and Engineering.
  • Work with suppliers and technology partners to evaluate and develop emerging technology ideas to cost, performance, schedule and quality.
  • Guide technical decision making using engineering analysis, testing and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Champion engineering best practice, innovation and continuous improvement across the Advanced Electrical Engineering Team.

What We’re Looking For

You’re a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges whilst developing the team around you. You combine strong electrical engineering expertise with curiosity, pragmatism and a passion for bringing emerging technologies to life through rapid experimentation and collaborative innovation.

Skills, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc OR BEng) in Electronic, Mechatronic, Robotic Engineering or related discipline. (Master’s advantageous but not required).
  • 8+ Years experience in electronics development for consumer or electromechanical products, including technical leadership.
  • Experience in product development, innovation and concept development.
  • High interest and working understanding of Machine Learning & other advanced control strategies.
  • Strong and evolving knowledge of Embedded Systems, Firmware, Sensors, Motor Control and Electronics.
  • Confident working with suppliers to evaluate, develop and integrate new technologies.
  • Critical thinking skills across a broad range of engineering and commercial disciplines, enabling and informing the right decisions.
  • Experience creating prototypes, models and schematics to drive rapid learning and decision making in development process.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work in a high pace and agile working environment.
