About the Role

We are seeking an innovative, self-starting individual passionate about working in the fast-paced bus and transport industry. If you thrive in dynamic environments, we invite you to apply for an Advanced Engineer (HGV/PSV Technician Level 3) position with Transport UK London Bus.

This role operates on a 4 nights on, 4 nights off shift pattern, offering flexibility—meaning you’ll have half the year off unless you choose voluntary overtime. Additional 5-day shift options are also available for those who prefer variety in their schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain our bus fleet
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic faults
  • Record faults and repair actions in tablet-based systems
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and report hazards

Requirements

Qualifications

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in PSV or HGV maintenance and repairs
  • IRTEC certification (in-service or advanced) training provided for inspection/technician roles

Licences & Skills

  • PCV licence preferred but not essential (training offered for aspiring bus drivers)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Maths and English
    • Technical manuals and fleet management systems
    • Independent problem-solving
    • Teamwork (across depots and shifts)
  • Must be safety-conscious and adaptable
