Position: Bank Specialist Physiotherapist - Lymphoedema
Location: The Christie Private Care, Manchester
Contract type: Bank shifts - variable
Pay: Bank hourly rate between £27.77ph – £42.77 dependent upon shift.
Rates inclusive of WTR include indicative additional amount separately payable on claiming accrued annual leave. WTR is calculated on the average hourly pay rate over the preceding 52 weeks and may therefore differ from the amount included in the above WTR rates.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lymphoedema Physiotherapist to join our specialist oncology AHP Bank team at The Christie Private Care. As a bank physiotherapist, you will be part of a close-knit team consisting of a physiotherapy lead, advanced physiotherapists, complementary therapists, an advanced dietitian and dietetic lead.

Day to day you will be responsible for assessing, treating and managing patients with lymphoedema and cancer-related oedema, delivering a specialist lymphoedema service to private patients in our care. The role is primarily based within the outpatient setting, supporting patients across a range of oncology pathways including breast, gynaecological and other cancer specialities.
You will provide specialist assessment and treatment for patients presenting with upper limb, lower limb, trunk and head and neck lymphoedema, developing personalised management plans to optimise functional outcomes, symptom control and quality of life.
As part of the role, you will support the physiotherapy lead and senior clinicians with the development of our growing oncology outpatient and lymphoedema services, including supporting service initiatives across oncology, women’s health and gynaecological cancer pathways. You will contribute to the department’s clinical governance and be responsible for maintaining your own personal development, ensuring up to date knowledge of best practice, national guidance and advances in lymphoedema management. You will take responsibility for your own training and ensure that mandatory training and specialist competencies are always compliant.

What You’ll Bring
- HCPC Registration
- Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent
- Post registration experience working within oncology and outpatient physiotherapy services
- Specialist experience assessing and treating patients with lymphoedema and cancer-related oedema
- Additional recognised training and competency in lymphoedema management
- Experience managing upper limb, lower limb, trunk and head and neck lymphoedema
- A passion to develop and specialise further within oncology rehabilitation and lymphoedema services
