Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role
As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell in Bournemouth, you will:
- Lead product design changes and provide expert guidance to sustain and grow our Aerospace business.
- Collaborate globally with suppliers, customers, and engineering teams across different design centres and factories.
Our focus is on Global Repair and Overhaul Engineering (GROE), improving supply chain performance and maintaining designs for commercial and military aircraft components during manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive design improvements: Lead product changes, modifications, upgrades, and obsolescence resolutions, including supplier and customer investigations.
- Support transitions & repairs: Assist in integrating new repair processes and evaluating engineering requests for non-conforming parts.
- Value creation: Work on projects to reduce manufacturing turnaround time and repair costs.
- Capital purchases: Lead initiatives for equipment procurement.
- Estimations & documentation: Provide quotes and statements of work for engineering projects.
- Stakeholder communication: Engage with internal/external customers and suppliers to resolve supply chain issues, warranty claims, and first-year-in-service failures.

Key Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
✔ Eligible to work in the UK ✔ Proven mechanical or aerospace engineering experience (degree preferred in relevant field) ✔ Resides within an easy commute of Bournemouth Airport ✔ Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse teams
