Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) – Out of Hours

Location: Berwick-upon-Tweed Salary: Competitive, DOE (Depending on Experience)

We are recruiting an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our Out of Hours (OOH) service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages.
  • Provide:
    • Telephone triage
    • Centre-based consultations
    • Home visits
  • Deliver high-quality urgent and palliative care.
  • Prescribe medication.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

  • Independent Prescriber (essential).
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Advanced Clinical Practice, or currently working towards one.
  • Confident in treating patients of all ages.
  • Comfortable providing palliative care.
  • Willing to:
    • Understand and conduct triage.
    • Undertake centre visits.
    • Perform home visits.
    • Work across most service sites.
    • Accept regular shifts where available.

Commitment & Availability

  • Reliable and committed to completing the onboarding process.
  • Must reside locally.

Training & Documentation

Complete mandatory OOH training:

  • Online induction (weekday evenings, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm).
  • Palliative Care training (weekday evenings, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm).
  • One 4-hour shadowing shift before working independently.
