The Role
Working as part of a small multidisciplinary team, the post holder will provide autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis and management for patients referred to AAU / Ambulatory Care, including:
- GP and ANP expected patients
- Medical Ambulatory Care patients
- Surgical Hot Clinic referrals
- Urgent Gynaecology patients
The ANP will work closely with acute physicians, on-call medical teams, the Senior Charge Nurse and AAU / Ambulatory Care nursing staff to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care, supporting patient flow and alternatives to admission where clinically appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification, or working towards advanced practice capability.
- Independent prescribing qualification, or willingness to undertake.
- Significant acute, urgent or unscheduled care experience.
- Excellent assessment, clinical decision-making, communication and team-working skills.
