Would you like to be part of a remote and rural island community, where you can deliver truly person-centred care and support to individuals across the life span? Then this may be the opportunity you have been looking for.

We have a part-time vacancy for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to help support our Primary Care/ Urgent Unscheduled Care service across Shetland. The post holder will work flexibly as part of an established ANP team, providing a front-line service for general practice patients in various different Health centres.

Advanced Nurse Practitioners will see patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Using patient history, clinical assessment and a comprehensive physical examination, utilising expert knowledge and clinical judgement, the ANP will be able to identify the potential diagnosis. The ANP will be able to initiate laboratory and radiological investigations, make referrals, prescribe and evaluate treatments appropriate to the clinical situation and needs of the patient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
